Creamy Collagen Chai Tea Latte + Recipe

Chai tea lattes are almost a necessity this time of year — but the nasty hidden ingredients and costly price of store-bought ones made me rethink my obsession.

Until now.

This Creamy Collagen Chai Tea Latte recipe makes a rich, frothy, warming, grounding, and subtly sweet chai — AND the sneaky little addition of marine collagen strengthens brittle hair and nails throughout this dry season.

Creamy Collagen Chai Tea Latte

Makes 2 servings



  • 1 400 mL can coconut milk

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 2 tbsp ground chai

  • 2 scoops marine collagen

  • 1 tbsp date paste

  • touch of maple syrup

  • optional shot of organic, fair-trade espresso*



  1. In a small pot on medium-low heat, simmer the coconut milk, water, and chai for five minutes.

  2. Remove from heat and strain into a high-powered blender.

  3. Add the remaining ingredients and blend on high until well combined and frothy. (I use a Vitamix Pro 750 series and blend for approx 1 minute on the The Hot Soup setting)

  4. Pour into your favourite mug, breathe in, and be prepared to melt away. 

**tip #1: canned coconut milk works best but canned coconut cream with equal parts water works well too. If you don’t desire such a rich and creamy chai, opt for light coconut milk or simply add more water.

**tip #2: look for good quality chai mixes that are ground from whole spices.

**tip #3: opt for marine collagen that ensures sustainability.
